BILINGUAL BRIDGES TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Ali, Spanish & English Teacher
Spanish and English Teacher
A Spanish and English teacher for Bilingual Bridges, it was a passion for service and desire to immerse herself in another culture that first drew Ali to build on her high school Spanish by moving to Costa Rica. She spent a year studying at the accredited Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica where she graduated in 2011 with an Advanced-Mid Certification from ACTFL. Since then she has continued to build on her Spanish skills through living and working with youth for five years in Costa Rica. Upon returning to the US she has continued to travel on short-term work trips and vacation in Central and South America and has now experienced life, culture and the rich diversity of Spanish in nine countries!
She currently teaches high school Spanish and is working toward an ESL license. Her love for the cultural richness and diversity of Spanish-speaking countries and desire to serve Spanish-speakers learning English here in the US drives her passion for teaching! In her free time she loves to salsa dance, watch new every romantic comedy that comes out, check out new international restaurants, and volunteer with the teen outreach organization, Young Life/Vida Jóven.
